The Importance of Positive Thinking

What most people don’t know is that the truth of life revolves around positive thinking and doing it with the right attitude. Successful people reach their set goals and targets by thinking positively, with much energy and enthusiasm generated both in the mind and in the body.  If we want to achieve our goals by practicing positive thinking, changing the way we think is simply a matter of changing a habit and this can be done in less time than you might think.  With practice you will have this new habit perfected and will be practicing positive thinking automatically and without difficulty in no time at all.  We need to constantly remind ourselves that changing how we think is for our own good and we’re doing it to get good results in the near future.

Having a positive mental attitude is a value that must be constantly practiced in order to stay motivated, to focus positively on the task at hand, and to achieve the success that you have always wanted. Below are just some of the effective positive thinking tips, some of which are also suggested by Rhonda Byrne in the book, The Power. By practicing these tips, not only will you help yourself in achieving your goals faster, but will also enhance your learning abilities and master the necessary steps in using positive mental attitude to change your life.

1.       Listen and learn daily. Whenever possible read quotes about positive thinking. Also reflect on the challenges and adventures you have already undertaken and overcome. You will find many valuable motivational tips on the internet.  Be aware, look for and utilize ways in which to develop positive thinking and practice those ways often.  Positive thinking alone will raise your energy to higher levels and inspire you to reach for higher ground.

2.      Be optimistic and always think of the glass as half full.  It has been said that people who are optimistic have the ability of pushing negative thoughts away and reverting to a more positive way of seeing the situation. They replace negative thought or words with positive ones.  This practice is very effective when used on regular bases. Changing the way you think to a more positive mode will enhance your ability to cope in all situations.

3.      Always be thankful for what you have. Gratitude gives joy to a person and benefits us beyond what the eyes can see. It unlocks the beauty in everything and calms and expands the human mind and spirit.  The word gratitude is said to carry a very high vibration within the Universe; it raises us to a higher consciousness.  Be thankful for even the smallest things in your life.  We all have something to be grateful for each and every day, give some thought to those things. Think about and be grateful for the people in your life who have impacted you in ways that are immeasurable.

4.       Take responsibility for your actions. There may come a time in your life when you need to recognize and accept actions which have brought you to a difficult situation. Above all be responsible for your actions, we all make mistakes from time to time, sometimes it is simply human error.  Be willing to admit that something could have been done better. These are the lessons we learn and grow from.  Assess the situation, think and develop strategies and a specific plan of action, set your goals on how you can achieve it, make the needed changes, and you can get through it quickly.

5.      Never allow negative emotions to control and overwhelm you. According to the Law of Attraction, you will attract whatever you feel and think of. If something wrong happens, sit back and analyze what happened and where it went wrong. After doing so, and having a clear picture of the situation, create plans and set goals for change that will develop a solid foundation to help you. The world may sometimes seem unfair so it’s okay to experience some frustration, but continue to think of ways to make your life better.

Positive thinking is easier than you think because all you need to do is push aside all negative thoughts and focus on what you want and how you want to get it.

Everything that has been written on this blog is 100% correct. I never knew how important positive thinking became until I was in a tough situation. Yes, negative thoughts were running through my head but I had to reverse those thoughts to positive ones. The outcome of my situation was in my favor. It is really good that people like yourself are writing about issues about being positive.

Thank you for your comment Brenda. It seems that, for most people, the true understanding – and belief in – positive thinking does not occur until they are in a difficult situation and are looking for answers. I say this because it is exactly what happened to me as well. Since then my entire life has changed for the better. I refuse to let anyone “steal my joy” as I allowed them to do before and do my best to turn negative circumstances around by using the power of positive thinking.
